What is the Healthy Eating Quiz
The Healthy Eating Quiz (HEQ) is a general guide, designed to help you rate how healthy your eating habits are. It will help to identify areas in which you are already eating a wide variety of foods and areas where you may be able to improve. At the end of the quiz, you will receive a score with general feedback on your current eating patterns. It will also give you suggestions for ways to increase the variety of foods in your diet.
The HEQ is endorsed by the Dietitians Association of Australia and first launched in 2012. Since then over 600,000 people from all over the world have completed it. It takes less than 10 minutes to do. At the end of the quiz you will instantly receive a HEQ report, your results will be stored in your personalised dashboard and we will recommended personalised goals to help you to improve specific areas of your diet. You can come back and visit us anytime to see how your HEQ score changes over time. Improvement in your HEQ score can help you to live healthier lives and reduce the risk of diet related disease later in life.
Why is healthy eating important?
Your HEQ score and personalised feedback report is based on the frequency and variety of healthy core foods you usually eat. This is important because no single food contains all the nutrients we need to stay healthy. Some foods are higher in nutrients than others and people who have a lot of variety in the foods they eat are more likely to be healthy and to stay healthy. In other words, if you can eat a large variety of vegetables as opposed to only 2-3 types of vegetables, the benefits are much greater. This type of diet also helps you to feel better, think better and perform better during your usual daily activities.
